Welcome to Miami Pollinators
We are a registered sec 501(c) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a greener, cooler, more sustainable Miami for everyone.
By strategically planting native and pollinating plants, trees, and shrubs, we aim to create natural habitats, provide food for nature, and improve the quality of life for residents in South Florida. By fostering a sustainable ecosystem and promoting environmental stewardship, we strive to create vibrant neighborhoods, ensuring everyone has access to the benefits of a thriving natural environment.
What we do
It’s pretty simple. We find places that could benefit from more greenery, be it native trees, flowers, or edible plants, and then we work with property owners, city officials, and local partners to provide plants, installation, and initial maintenance to add life back into those areas.
Why We Do It
There are so many benefits to greening urban spaces. Here are some of our favorites:
-
Greener Spaces
By helping establish trees and plants in neighborhoods, we can help create greener, prettier, and more enjoyable shared spaces for the benefit of everyone.
-
Cooler Places
Did you know having a canopy of well-established trees can cool a neighborhood by X degrees? That means bearable summer walks, cooler parked cars on the street, and cheaper cooling bills for homes!
-
Pretty Pollinators
Animals like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds all need plants to feed and survive. They also help to spread pollen between plants while they feed, which means more plants, fruits, and seeds for all of us.
-
Healthier You
Being surrounded by greenery is also good for your health! Exposure to nature helps reduce stress and anxiety, while having green spaces filled with fruit-bearing trees or edible plants can help people make affordable, healthier food choices.
